Join us for our monthly ABQ Beeks April Meeting.
In April we're talking splits/divides and swarms.
Word is that swarm season is going to be early and active this year. Swarm catching is an excellent way to obtain FREE honeybees for your hives. We will have an experienced beekeeper speak on helpful techniques for catching swarms.
Also, we are trying something new for our April meeting. As always, we will end our meeting with a Q and A session to help with any of your beekeeping concerns, followed by our some time to mingle with fellow beekeeper, but for this meeting we are asking all of you to bring along any of your swarm catching tools for a kind of show and tell during the last half hour of our meeting. Do you have a useful box or bucket that you have altered? Have you built your own bee vac, or do you have some other tool you find indispensable for scooping up a fat swarm of honeybees? Please bring it along and share it with us. We will have a table set off to the side where we will place any of your swarm catching tools for people to examine and get ideas/inspiration from.
Remember, we are happily settling into our new location at Bosque School's Budaghers Hall.
