Event Description

Curious about how others set up their backyard apiaries? Want to get ideas on how to plan or supplement your garden so it provides forage for pollinators through 3 seasons? Want to talk bees with experienced beekeepers? Then join us for the 3rd Annual Apiary & Pollinator Garden Tour Saturday, September 30, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. The tour is FREE.

Our generous friends and bee-lovers at Kaktus Brewing Co. are offering Tour guests who visit 4 or more sites a beer tasting for up to 10 of their friends! What a great way to end the tour.

Slow Food ABQ will be providing honey-infused refreshments at Open Space Visitor Center and another location. Please register for the Tour to find out where!

You will also have an opportunity to enter to win a topbar nuc hive, full-sized topbar hives, a bee vacuum and many other great prizes. Review the complete list of raffle items here. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and will be sold at several of the sites. See the site descriptions to find where you can purchase raffle tickets. Drawing takes place October 5 at the last 2017 ABQ Beeks meeting. Proceeds support ABQ Beeks, NMBKA and SlowFood ABQ.

This is a CLOSED hive tour (hives will not be opened); however, taking precautions when visiting a bee yard is a good idea. Please wear light colored clothing and avoid heavy fragrances.

If you have any questions or trouble with the map, please email

Susannah, did you get a response?

Register at, and you will have access to maps of all the sites.  You can visit whichever sites you'd like, any time between 10:00 & 2:00.
Some sites will have raffle tickets available for the ABQBeeks raffle, some will be selling their own products, and two will have SlowFoodsABQ - all of that info is on the maps, if that persuades you!
