Urban beekeeping in New Mexico's largest city.
October ABQ Beeks Monthly Meeting
well here we are, at the end of the ABQ Beeks season, can you believe it?!?
Let's get together one more time, tomorrow eve, Thursday, October 13th from 6.30-8.30 for a brief meeting and then our annual POTLUCK PARTY!
1. We will be raffling off the beautiful blue nuc hive (with an observation window) donated by Mark and Beth Sommer. Tickets are $5 each. You can buy them tomorrow night right up until the raffle.
2. Mary Ann Brewington from the board of ABQ Xeric Garden Club will have Bee City USA "This is a Bee Friendly Garden" signs available for sale. I believe they will be $25 each. Post one at your apiary to let everyone know you have a bee friendly garden.
3. We will have a bit of time for your questions and answers about closing up your hives and tucking in your bees for winter in New Mexico.
4. And finally, we will have our ANNUAL ABQ BEEKS POTLUCK CELEBRATION. Please bring your favorite dish to share and join us for dinner on the beautiful Bosque School patio with a view of the Sandia Mountains and the changing colors of the autumn cottonwoods in the middle Rio Grande Valley. You really can't beat it!
See you soon,
Carolyn, Jodi, and Anita
