Albuquerque Beekeepers

Urban beekeeping in New Mexico's largest city.

The Albuquerque Area Apiary & Pollinator Garden Tour Committee is looking for volunteers to help at host sites on the day of the tour, Saturday, September 22, from 9:30am-3:30pm. Volunteering for the Tour is a fun way to represent NMBKA in the community and to get to know other beekeepers and gardeners. Review the following information carefully and let us know how you would like to participate!

  • Volunteers act as ambassadors for NMBKA, welcoming visitors to the site, supporting the host, selling tickets for the drawing, and handing out informational and/or promotional materials.

  • Volunteers are encouraged to participate in the tour as well as volunteer! Therefore, you may request a morning or afternoon half-shift (3.5 hours) or can volunteer for the entire shift (7 hours).

  • Morning shifts will need to arrive before the tour begins to set up and afternoon shifts will need to stay to pack up.

  • You may include up to half an hour of travel time in your volunteer hours. If you are traveling 60 miles or more to volunteer, you may include your total travel time as a part of your volunteer hours.

  • A volunteer orientation will take place on Friday, September 21, for approximately one hour in the evening (time and location TBD). At the orientation, you will receive the materials for your assigned host site.

  • This is a CLOSED HIVE tour. NMBKA liability insurance will cover participants on the day of the tour.

If you have any questions or are interested in participating, please email volunteernmapgt@gmail.com with your contact information and the hours you are able to commit to. Please include “Apiary Tour Volunteer” or “Volunteering Questions” in the subject line.  #NMApiaryGardenTour
