Recent article on the work of Dr Olivia Carril (author of The Bees in Your Backyard) and Dr Karen Wright (formerly of UNM now insect curator at Texas A&M) with out local native bees, through bee species surveys at Bandelier National Monument and Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge.

New Mexico is home to about a quarter of North America's 4000+ bee species. Many remain unresearched, and several new species have only recently been discovered!
