Albuquerque Beekeepers

Urban beekeeping in New Mexico's largest city.

I am an aspiring beekeeper and would like to know if there are upcoming beginner classes available in Albuquerque or nearby.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there is a Pollinators class offered to the public by Master Gardeners this April 16th from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. They charge $5 at the door and it's located at the Albuquerque Garden Center.

Also, another member posted this article. I haven't read through it all but it looks like a pretty interesting read.

Here are a few beginner classes that I am aware of:

  • Hays Honey and Apple Farm $12– May 11, 2019 9am-4:30pm go to website hayshoneynm.com to get details on what gear to bring if you want to participate in the Hands on Demo and the Pot Luck lunch
  • March 2 @ 11am, Rio Rancho Library.  See flier below

We are also doing a class at Jericho Nursery Starting at 1pm.  You can find information at www.jerichonursery.com

Justin, what will you be covering in this workshop?

Intro to beekeeping, helping your bees into spring, best places/ways to get bees/equipment, possibly opening a hive, good forage plants and when to get them in the dirt.  And as always, lots of my world famous jokes.

Got it! Thanks!

Just registered for the seminar this weekend. What time does the seminar end? I didn't see it on the website.
