Albuquerque Beekeepers

Urban beekeeping in New Mexico's largest city.

I need some advice about moving hives. I have three on the west side of my yard in the foothills. I need to move them because I'm having a block wall put up. The hives face east and we have harvested the honey. It will take the workers four days. If the workers are behind the hives, just how dangerous is it for someone suspicious of these darlings? I'd rather they not be freaked out ;(

Any suggestions/recommendations about how to go about moving them so the workers will not be terrified? How far east/forward should I move them?

Many thanks for your help!!!
