Urban beekeeping in New Mexico's largest city.
Today, I was passed the phone number for a gentleman with a swarm in his yard. 730-1774. It's in the Lomas & Constitution area. It flew into his yard yesterday afternoon/early evening. I was over there about 12:45 PM today, Saturday.
The swarm is mid-sized, I think. It's 25-30 feet up a pine tree, about 5-6 feet out along a branch. You'll need a 30 foot ladder, I think, and a bee vac would be much safer over trying to cut the branch at that point, which is thick enough to need loppers. I don't have the ladder (he thinks he can get one, perhaps), or the bee vac. I said I'd pass.
Is the swarm gone?
