We are located in the Zuni mountains and have used three different Warre hives.

(1)  Sweet Valley Hives

(2) Bee Built

(3) The Warre Store

We now build our own Warre Hives, but mainly because I enjoy doing woodworking.  Our Warre Hives have thicker walls to increase the thermal mass (insulation properties).  We are located at 7,000' feet in elevation and get some pretty big temperature swings.  Be sure to post up if you have questions.  Your geographical location is much different than mine.  You might want to ask others in your area, but you may have to keep an eye out for the hive beetle.

@Samuel Lopez - I would love to come by after you've opened for the year (or be there for your first opening of the year).

@Rhett Renoud - I don't have specific questions as yet. I am primarily interested in seeing what a setup looks like, how they work, etc.

I am in South Valley and will be keeping them in various places on my ~3 acre property.

Hello Sigrid Blom.  What kind of questions do you have about the Warre?  Where will you be keeping your Warre hives?

Is anyone keeping Warre this year? I don't have bees currently and have a little experience with Top Bar, but am wanting to learn to keep Warre. Looking for folks to talk to and learn from. Thanks.

Hi! I will be a first year beekeeper this Spring. I’ll have two Warre Hives in Los Ranchos and am looking for a Mentor. Please contact me if interested or with any advice on how to make this happen. Thanks!

I just want to meet a Warre hive beek to learn the seasonality and tricks to beekeeping in NM.  I'm a recent immigrant from MI, and a huge fan of Chris Harvey of the Warre Store and Teakwood Organics LLC.  Please contact me!  I'll bee most grateful.

Looking below, I said on June 15 that I would post pictures of our Warre super.  Apparently, I didn't get around to doing so.  The good news is that we took two blue ribbons and two red ribbons at the NM State Fair from the honey that we pulled from two Warre supers.  Hopefully I can remember to post some pictures.
