"Probably not, they just share similar genetics and thus similar pheromones, as a result worker bees are also tolerant of the situation. Double queen hives usually cannot be sustained as a double queened hive if the queens are not related, they do…"

"Tragic to hear about your bad queen Dan. I too had a commercial queen from a pakage that never laid and just dissapeard after two weeks. I ended up adding a swarm to that hive to save them. So much for Cordovin Italians... Now they are New Mexico…"

"Cool, from what I read queen breeders occasionally find 2 queens in a hive, experts say that this can occur in aout 10 percent of colonies, if your want try running a double queen hive by seperating the two queens using a couple of queen…"

I'm novice to bee keeping (just started this spring) but learning fast and enjoying it. i have 1 top bar hive with a small feral swarm and 1 langstroth hive that i just put a 3 lb package of italians in.
My wonderful wife is also helping me and learning along with me. we are in the NE heights
