2 Laying Worker hives

Hello All. I need a little help. I have only 2 hives, and both have been queenless for close to 3 weeks. I believe I now have a laying worker in both hives. I saw a technique on youtube by Jason Chrisman, where He put a new box in the old hive's location, but set inside only a frame with queen-right brood and dumped all the bees in front of the hive and let them all walk back in. This time the pheromones were different, and then he introduced a new queen, and she was received. QUESTION: Does…See More

Ready to Start

Hey everyone. I'm now to the point where I am ready to start keeping bees. I intend to start out with Langstroth hives, but do not yet have a kit, boxes or frames. Anyone wanting to offload any? Or where do you suggest purchasing them from? Amazon? I guess I would prefer someone local though, as long as they're not much more expensive. I became a member to abqbeeks as of yesterday, and will be attending the mentoring event this weekend. 505-845-9286, or after work hours at…See More

Profile Information

About me:
I am new to Albuquerque and the Southwest. 40 years old, with 2 little girls ages, 3 and 9 months. I am entirely new to keeping bees myself and really want to get into this hobby! I grew up with my dad maintaining honey bees at our home, and he worked as an apiary for awhile. Currently he and my brother keep honey bees, and I've always been fascinated with it, so now that I have my own place that allows it, I'm looking to get started. Any help is APPRECIATED. Thanks!
My bee hives are primarily located here (ZIP code):
