This class will focus on the heat of summer, how to manage a growing hive, making divides, harvesting honey, requeening and identifying diseases. Students will learn how to identify a laying worker hive and discuss strategies for requeening. Harvesting, processing and storage of honey will also be studied in this class. Students will have an opportunity to harvest ripe combs and taste the delicious bounty of the hive. Planting for bees will also be covered in this class.
