Richard,

On that first warm day in Feb (60 degrees or better), add the pollen patty AND the super.  If you've got an almost full brood chamber (though the bees will have sucked up some of the honey), they'll be looking for space to build up,  Having that super on will give them the space they'll be looking for, and the pollen patty can stimulate egg-laying.  Good job.  Joe
