Well unfortunately, I missed the Albuquerque Beeks spring gathering this past weekend. I was REALLY looking forward to it but I came done with a real nasty case of the flu and am finally starting to feel human today.
I am looking forward to my beekeeping class this weekend with Les Crowder. I'm also hoping that my partner can get working on my hive soon now that things are finally settling down for us after the death of his mother.

Well the plans for my hive seem to be coming together well. They are kind of a hybrid of a few different plans that I've found. I also found a very helpful post about Top Bar Hive Dimensions on Ted's blog which I am incorporating into my plans. Here I am just starting my beekeeping adventure. My inspiration was a swarm of bees that landed in our backyard last week and I had a couple of the members from this site come and pick up the swarm. I asked a lot of questions and was fascinated by the swarm collecting process.
