About me:
I am a first year bee keeper and live in the East Mts. I would like to get a acquainted with an experienced bee keeper who might serve as a mentor as I have a lot of questions. I am taking Les Crowder's bee having course now. I will be attending the Abq. beekeepers meeting this evening, June 23 and am looking forward to meeting other bee keepers

yes i have a top bar hive and am starting with a package of buckfast bees. This year they will be in town but I hope to split the hive nxt year and take one up to my house in tejeras. My elevation is around 7300. DId you have any issues with bears. Its one of the things im worried about since im in the deep woods. I know a friend of mine had a bear destroy his hive around sedillo hill many many years ago and wondered if it was a normal concern for us.
